Dr. Shankar R. Kurpad

Dr. Shankar R. Kurpad is a highly skilled orthopedic surgeon with 29 years of medical experience, including 24 years as a specialist. He completed his MBBS from St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore, in 1996, followed by a Diploma in Orthopedics from Christian Medical College, Vellore, in 2000. He further earned his DNB in Orthopedics in 2004.

Dr. Shankar has pursued advanced international training, including fellowships in Traumatology in Munich (2002) and Hip Replacement & Reconstruction in Dresden (2006). Since 2001, he has been part of Dr. K. Srinivasan’s practice and currently serves as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon and partner in the group practice.

With expertise in hip and knee joint replacements, complex fractures, deformity correction, and general orthopedic problems, Dr. Shankar is recognized for his contributions to orthopedic surgery. He has served as a speaker at conferences, faculty member, and guest lecturer, focusing on complex periarticular fractures and joint reconstruction. His research has been presented at national and regional conferences.
